NIPPON SHAFT FINISHES SECOND AT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Twelve Players Utilize Nippon Shaft Products at Muirfield


CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 22, 2013) – The runner-up at the 142nd Open Championship utilized Nippon

Shaft products in his irons and was the only player in the field to shoot even par over four rounds at

Muirfield.

Nine other players also utilized Nippon Shafts in their irons, and four used Nippon Shaft in their utility or

hybrid clubs.

The 37-year-old Swede used the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex shafts in his TaylorMade irons to

shoot 70-70-74-70—284 at one of the more challenging venues on the Open Championship rota. He hit 80

percent of his fairways and 79 percent of his greens in regulation en route to finishing three strokes behind

the champion. The Open was his fourth top 10 finish in 12 starts this season on the PGA TOUR. He tied

for fifth at the PLAYERS Championship and was second at the Shell Houston Open.

CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 25, 2013) - Nippon Shaft recorded a victory on the Champions Tour at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Resort Classic. The 54-year-old champion used the N.S. PRO MODUS³ PROTOTYPE 980ST, S flex, to shoot an 11-under par total 205, on rounds of 70-68-67. His final round was highlighted by five consecutive birdies on the front nine of Fallen Oak Golf Club in Biloxi, Miss.
